In May 2010 stilwerk has opened the first stilwerk limited edition design gallery in Hamburg. By founding its own gallery where international, successful designers, architects and artists will exhibit their works in the future, stilwerk is establishing a platform for contemporary products intertwining art and design.
Still design or is it indeed already art? The borders are becoming increasingly permeable. Architects, product designers and interior designers create items for prestigious furniture manufacturers, not only for mass production, but also for sophisticated pieces, exclusive prototypes or limited special editions. The stilwerk limited edition design gallery is committed to featuring several of these rare and valuable exhibitions per year.
The first stilwerk limited edition design gallery is located at the company headquarters of stilwerk, opened in 1996, as the Hamburg design centre adjacent to the Elbe. The design gallery is residing in a spacious, bathed in light, stark white exhibition space on the seventh floor of Hamburg’s stilwerk overlooking the rooftops of the Hanseatic city.
